It goes along the freeway here and will be following the freeway for much of the first half. at the bridge is an elegant dog park done in a Mission style with massive gates, metal fencing with cutouts of dogs at play, night lighting, play areas for puppies, little dogs and big dogs and a three level water fountain. The diversions take you to a trail on the northern side of the canal to a hard packed dirt pathway (ok with hybridsmaybe not so great for road bikes).
